We are always interested in stamping out crashes. We hate them too! So if you’re inclined and wish to help us do this, please follow the instructions below to catch your crash red-handed, then send us the crash log so we can see what happened and get it resolved! Thanks so much in advance.
PCVR / Steam
Play the game and do what you do to make the crash happen.
Go to the following folder on your PC: C:\Users\yourUserName\AppData\Local\FreelandVR\Saved\Crashes
Right click the Crashes folder > “Send to” > “Compressed (zipped) folder”. That will create a new zipped file that you will be able to send in Discord under Create a Ticket.
Quest Standalone
Here are instructions to get logs via ADB on Sidequest.
What you’ll need:
- PC and USB-C cable to connect your headset
- Meta Quest app on your phone
- Sidequest installed on your PC
1. Install Sidequest on your PC. Go to https://sidequestvr.com/download, and follow the Advanced Installer side. The first video there covers everything for installing Sidequest and getting connected to your headset.
2. Set up for log capture.
Use the Run ADB Commands button to configure LogCat.
Now in the ADB Logcat window, click [Pick Output Folder] and select a folder where the logs will be saved.
3. Capture the crash log!
Still USB-connected to your computer, press [Start] in the SideQuest LogCat Window. Now you’re logging!
Proceed to play the game while logging is connected and running, and do what you did to get the crash again. After it’s finished you can just press the stop button.
You can then download the resulting file from your computer and send in Discord under Create a Ticket.
